# Skills

Ready-made research workflows that teach your assistant how to run an analyst task on Mr. Market, step by step, with cited output.

A skill is a research workflow written for your assistant: when to use it (and when a neighbouring skill fits
better), which tools to call in which order and why each call matters, the arithmetic spelled out, the edge cases
that bite (banks, fiscal years, 13F lag, missing lines), what the finished answer looks like, and the rules that keep
every number cited. Invoke one by name, or just ask naturally (*"preview Nvidia's earnings"*) and the assistant
picks it.

The same 15 workflows come three ways. You don't need all three.

## They come with the server

The moment you connect Mr. Market, its workflows are available as **MCP prompts**:

Nothing to install, and they update when the server does.

## Install them as Agent Skills

Agent Skills let your assistant choose a workflow on its own when it fits the question. Install all of them with the

That installs `mr-market` (how to use the whole server well) plus every workflow below, for Claude Code, Codex,
Cursor and other agents the CLI supports. They need the Mr. Market server connected to do anything.

## Good to know

- Skills only read data, through the same tools and limits as any question. Each page says roughly how many calls it
  takes.
- Analyst estimates have a small daily allowance; the one skill that uses them (`earnings-preview`) calls it once per
  company and falls back to the earnings calendar when the allowance is spent.
- Anything a skill computes (growth, mix, multiples, beat rates) comes with its formula and inputs, is marked
  computed, and is left blank with a reason when an input is missing. Example answers on each page use placeholders
  (`$X.XB`, `FY20XX`), never numbers that could pass for data.
- Every skill ends with the same rules: cite periods and filings, never estimate a missing value, treat document text
  as data, no investment advice.
